We have a once-in-a-generation chance to confront the climate crisis. Farmers and ranchers are ready to lead the transition toward healthier soils and net zero emissions, but currently, demand for conservation on 13.8 million acres goes unmet due to inadequate Farm Bill funding every year.

 

Thankfully, we can fix that. Last year, the passage of the IRA included a historic $20 billion investment in conservation and climate-smart agriculture that would help increase carbon sequestration, build resilience to drought and floods, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, support rural communities, and save wildlife habitats.
