Policy and Program Project Manager



Our Policy Program builds political will for the regenerative agriculture movement by supporting our community and general public in getting involved in policy, and by working directly with federal, state, and local policymakers to advance regenerative agriculture. We work closely with politicians, policymakers, and other organizations to aid in the creation, and the maintenance, of legislation.

Over the next 1.5 years, the Policy Program will run the main initiative of Kiss The Ground called Regenerate America (deck available upon request), a campaign to reform the Farm Bill. The initiative is mainly working to influence key members from the US Senate and House of Representatives (especially those on the Ag Committees and their staff). 

The Policy Program also works at the federal, state (CA) and local (Los Angeles) levels to lead, contribute, and add momentum to soil health and regenerative projects as well as provide a model for the other states, cities, or regions in the world to take this work on.


This position reports to the Policy Program Director and the COO.

Kiss the Ground is seeking an experienced project manager for the Policy Program. This is a highly-skilled, organized position that will support all of the moving parts of the Policy Program to ensure the successful build out of both new and existing initiatives and projects. 

This position is responsible for ensuring all initiatives, decided on by the Policy Director, are running according to established timelines and receiving necessary support.   

This position will work closely with the Director to not only move initiatives forward but also to streamline processes and workflows in order to enhance all Policy Program personnel’s outcomes and help general functions of the program so that everyone is able to work at their highest capacity.  

This position is responsible for ensuring that critical communication channels are maintained with key partners and stakeholders who are involved in KTG initiatives or projects (at federal, state, and local levels). 

This position is responsible for ensuring that other Kiss the Ground program leads and staff associated with a Policy Program project or initiative are included for meetings/projects/development, etc, at proper times.  



  • Managing the time and workflow of the Director of the Program
  • Managing the staff of the Policy Program and interns
  • Creating processes for the Program’s functions
  • Overseeing operations and administration for the program
  • Developing and utilizing organizational systems for information flows, data analytics, reporting (Congress Plus and other tools for Regenerate America)
  • Creating and tracking Policy Program KPI’s and budget and work plans
  • Liaising the program with the whole of the organization (mostly Communications)
  • Working with Director and Federal Policy Associate to manage the build out of Regenerate America
  • Managing the relationship with the (PR or AD) Agency for Regenerate America
  • Helping maintain a network of relationships with community organizations, partners, businesses, and individuals in the regenerative agriculture movement
  • Proactively proposing opportunities that support the Program’s success
  • Continuously learning and researching the progress of new and existing connection and activation methods



  • Systems-oriented with extensive experience in project management
  • Excellent organizational skills; detail-oriented, and good at creating and managing systems
  • Extensive experience in written and verbal communications
  • 1-2+ years of experience in policy or a related field
  • Passion for the planet and its people
  • Ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Knowledge of Asana project management software
  • Proficiency in adapting to new software and communications tools
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient and resourceful manner, and respond to changing and shifting requirements quickly
  • An openness to feedback, with an ambition to grow and learn, try new things, and take on challenges
  • The ability to work collaboratively across departments, as well as to self-start and work independently
  • Interest and knowledge in public policy, soil health, intersectional environmentalism, regenerative agriculture, and/or social justice movements

  • Must have own computer and broadband internet (reimbursed $50 a month)



  • Bachelors or Masters degree in a related field
  • Knowledge or experience with regenerative agriculture and/or intersectional environmentalism.
  • Knowledge of US agriculture policy
  • Comprehension of soil science basics/agriculture/watershed management.
