Farm Bill discussions have ramped up over the last two weeks, as the House Agriculture Committee has begun a series of hearings – A 2022 Review of the Farm Bill: Perspectives from the Field – across the country.

Hearings kicked off in Coolidge, Arizona on June 25th, and Farmer Leadership Council member Yadi Wang was able to attend and provide testimony on the incredible outcomes he has seen at Oatman Flats Ranch over the past two years from implementing cover crops and investing in soil health practices. The second hearing in this series was held in Fresno, California on July 7th, and both Regenerate America supporters and Kiss the Ground staff were able able to attend and provide testimony. We’ll be sharing clips and full summaries of the hearings in the next issue of the Regen Rapport, but in the meantime, many thanks to everyone who has taken the time so far to attend and provide direct feedback to our legislators! Ensuring that our representatives understand the importance of directing resources and funding towards soil health and regenerative agriculture in the next Farm Bill is critical as we work to build a food and agriculture system for the future.

The next House Ag Committee hearings will take place at Remlinger Farms in Carnation, Washington on July 22nd (10am Pacific), and a hearing at Bruce Peterson Farm in Northfield, Minnesota on July 25th (10am Cental).

Additional dates and locations will be announced in the coming weeks.
