1. What is your proudest accomplishment?
Being able to work with our dad and my two brothers on a daily basis.
2. When did you realize soil was something you grew on your farm?
When our Dad attended Soil Health Academy as part of the Kiss the Ground Farmland Transition Program.
3. Who inspires you the most?
Other California family owned farms. They support 2/3 of the nation’s fruit and vegetable supply and the reason for our high level of domestic food security.
4. What advice would you give to someone starting a farm?
Build a network within your area. Most farmers are happy to share their local knowledge with others.
5. What is your legacy?
I think our dad is very excited about the 6th generation spending time on the farm. Our dad had 3 boys and now has 3 granddaughters, so it’s been a change for him. It’s fun bringing our daughters out to the farm and exposing them to agriculture.
