Communications and Marketing Director 

Kiss The Ground is seeking highly diligent, confident candidates with substantial management experience for the role of Communications & Marketing Director. The position comes with great responsibility, as Communications Directors are accountable for public perception of a company. Managing this perception involves developing marketing and communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting, responding to crises and setbacks, overseeing a team of diverse communications and marketing roles and ensuring that information released is consistent with the strategy at large. The Director will oversee the communications coordinator and web site manager.  In addition this position will work closely with Brand Partnership, Development, Media, Stewardship, Farmland, and Policy programs.

Communications Director Responsibilities:

  • Reports to COO and Executive Director

ASSOCIATE PRODUCER

KTG’s Media Program creates general awareness and consumer demand through short films, mini-docs, a podcast, branded collaborations, and other content. The Farmland Program supports transitioning farmers and ranchers with training, mentorship, and soil testing and has a robust scholarship program for farmers who need financial assistance to take part. The Stewardship Program is an education platform, community, and resource hub that was created to educate, inspire, and empower individuals to become powerful and impactful advocates for the regenerative movement. 

Outside of these programs, Kiss the Ground has spread the word through creative collaborations that have resulted in a book and a critically-acclaimed documentary (released on Netflix in September 2020), both named Kiss the Ground.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Kiss the Ground is looking for a FT Associate Producer with a positive, can-do attitude and great work ethic to join the media team within our established but growing nonprofit. We’re looking to hire someone with solid AP/coordinator experience who thrives in a creative and collaborative environment. Candidates should be able to juggle a range of tasks for internal and external projects ranging from promo videos to a documentary series to branded media.

The ideal candidate will be excited about environmental issues – bonus points for those well-versed in agriculture and/or regenerative practices! – and have experience assisting on and executing video projects of various sizes. This position will directly support production with research and development, scheduling, creative concepts, and assets/archival in addition to administrative duties and some simple editing. This position will also be expected to participate in pitching ideas.

We have a remote team and this work is mainly WFH, though this position will be required to attend filming as needed. When this is required, all national and local COVID protocols in place at that time will be followed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously in an efficient and resourceful manner
  • Production coordination experience including clearing locations, coordinating with talent and guests, assisting with deliverables, and building schedules

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Kiss the Ground’s fundraising, including membership, major gifts, special events, foundations and corporate campaigns. WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work will be performed virtually at home and in the Los Angeles region when the coronavirus is no longer a threat
  • Occasional job duties will be performed outside of the typical office setting, including but not limited to;  outdoors, private homes, conference centers, restaurants, and hotels
  • The schedule is flexible; meetings will likely occur outside of typical 9-5 work hours

HOURLY PAY

$25/hour. This full time role includes health insurance, 80 vacation hours, and 24 hours of sick time.

Our internships are remote and typically four months long, although we can accommodate specific school schedules. We ask for at least a four hour commitment per week.
