Kiss the Ground is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to awaken people to the possibilities of regeneration and inspire participation in this movement through media, communications, education, immersive programming, and advocacy. Since being established in 2013 with the goal of creating societal awareness around the extraordinary potential of healthy soil, Kiss the Ground has educated and activated millions through their Media Program, Farmland Program, and Stewardship Program and created an online “pathway” for anyone to find resources and their unique way forward in contributing to this expanding global movement.

Communications and Marketing Director 

Kiss The Ground is seeking highly diligent, confident candidates with substantial management experience for the role of Communications & Marketing Director. The position comes with great responsibility, as Communications Directors are accountable for public perception of a company. Managing this perception involves developing marketing and communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting, responding to crises and setbacks, overseeing a team of diverse communications and marketing roles and ensuring that information released is consistent with the strategy at large. The Director will oversee the communications coordinator and web site manager.  In addition this position will work closely with Brand Partnership, Development, Media, Stewardship, Farmland, and Policy programs.

Communications Director Responsibilities:

  • Reports to COO and Executive Director
  • Developing a cohesive communications strategy and budget
  • Developing a Social media calendar which will include posts from our partners in the movement, as well as KTG posts of pod casts, workshops, classes, etc.  as well as the commitments in our Strategic Plan
  • Developing Marketing Strategy to sell our online courses
  • Working with the Communications Coordinator to maintain communications and marketing calendar
  • Helping Communications Coordinator with the flow/creation of and approval of posts
  • Crisis management and preemptive planning
  • Maintaining an awareness of company risks and threats
  • Managing media relations
  • Develop and manage influencer + brand ambassador programming
  • Ensuring quality control of all information released
  • Working with Public Relations team for strategy and copy assistance

Communications Director Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • 8+ years communications experience.
  • Experience in digital analytics and social listening tools, measuring campaign ROI and metrics to support overall influencer strategy
  • Expert knowledge of Instagram, FaceBook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Awareness of and proficiency with communications technologies.
  • Must demonstrate flawless attention to detail, be a team player,and creative thinker
  • Experience in diverse stakeholder/community engagement.
  • Clear and concise communication with team members and senior management.
  • Strong and confident leadership.
  • A good knowledge of the Regenerative Agriculture movement is a big plus.

Communications/Marketing Coordinator and WebSite manager

We are searching for a talented and professional Communications Coordinator to join our dynamic communications team. Your duties will be diverse and multi-faceted, therefore excellent professional skills are vital for this role. In this role, you’ll help lead the charge in growing our social media presence through engaging content that drives brand awareness, traffic and sales.The successful candidate will help the team create promotional materials, contribute to the development and management of the company website, to effectively deliver our company’s mission and offerings to the public and the media. If you love compelling social media content and visual storytelling, creating content, engaging with audiences, growing channels and inspiring people to explore the possibilities of Regeneration then you are who we are looking for.  You must possess superb written and verbal communication skills, and have in-depth knowledge of marketing trends.  Communications Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Reports to COO and Communications Director
  • Write content for both print and Web including the company website, blog, brochures, annual report and magazine.  Assist with content for our two newsletters (Farmland and Stewardship). Writing instastories
  • Work with Stewardship Program and Farmland program to develop Marketing pieces for our online courses 
  • Implement communications and marketing strategy with the communications director.
  • Monitor the company’s social media and online presence.
  • Recommend techniques to improve the company’s public image.
  • Working with our Graphic designer, make sure that all promotional and marketing materials meet the company’s brand identity strategy.

 Website Manager Responsibilities:

  • Work in WordPress to do basic update to the website
  • Work with Technical web developers to improve the look, feel and functionality of the web site.  This may include a web overhaul in near future.
  • a detailed understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC). 
  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor and upgrade the organization’s website.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues.
  • Identify and respond to all website security breaches.
  • Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures.
  • Create appropriate website content aligned to the organization’s strategy.
  • Ensure website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans.
  • Improve the User Experience of the website regularly.
  • Collaborate with all staff and management to ensure that the website aligns with brand strategy and meets the organization’s standards.

Development Director, Kiss the ground 

The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of Kiss the Ground’s fundraising, including membership, major gifts, special events, foundations and corporate campaigns. The Director works closely with The Executive Director and the COO in all development and fundraising endeavors.

  1. Work with Major Gifts officer and President to meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications with them.

  3. Manage the Partnership Development Manager, membership program and Find Your Path
  4. Create a major gifts strategy including identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major donors.
  5. Oversee Foundation and Government grant seeking including research, proposal writing, and reporting requirements.

Executive Assistant, Kiss the ground 

Seeking an autonomous, highly organized Executive Assistant to support stewardship of Kiss the Ground, a regenerative agriculture nonprofit. As an Executive Assistant for the Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of Kiss the Ground, you’ll support high energy and high profile internal and external communication streams by proactively coordinating and booking meetings, phone calls, and interviews, as well as providing copywriting/editing support, event coordination, and fundraiser outreach. This role is full-time, currently remote, 40 hours/week. It’s an amazing invitation to support work that is impacting the planet.


Kiss the Ground is a 501(c)3 environmental nonprofit based in Los Angeles, California addressing global warming through the regeneration of soil. This position reports directly to the Executive Director and COO.


  • Manage the Calendar for both the ED and the COO.

Kiss The Ground provides a unique opportunity for learning about initiatives that support farming principles and practices that increase biodiversity, enrich soils, improve watersheds, and enhance ecosystem services.

Our internships are remote and typically four months long, although we can accommodate specific school schedules. We ask for at least a four hour commitment per week.
