Kiss the Ground is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to awaken people to the possibilities of regeneration and inspire participation in this movement through media, communications, education, immersive programming, and advocacy. Since being established in 2013 with the goal of creating societal awareness around the extraordinary potential of healthy soil, Kiss the Ground has educated and activated millions through their Media Program, Farmland Program, and Stewardship Program and created an online “pathway” for anyone to find resources and their unique way forward in contributing to this expanding global movement.

KTG’s Media Program creates general awareness and consumer demand through short films, mini-docs, a podcast, branded collaborations, and other content. The Farmland Program supports transitioning farmers and ranchers with training, mentorship, and soil testing and has a robust scholarship program for farmers who need financial assistance to take part. The Stewardship Program is an education platform, community, and resource hub that was created to educate, inspire, and empower individuals to become powerful and impactful advocates for the regenerative movement.

Outside of these programs, Kiss the Ground has spread the word through creative collaborations that have resulted in a book and a critically-acclaimed documentary (released on Netflix in September 2020), both named Kiss the Ground.


This role supports Kiss the Ground in booking speaking engagements, workshops, immersions, film screenings and Q&A’s, and podcast appearances. This role reports directly to our Cofounders, Ryland and Finian, as well as any team member who may be asked to speak or appear.
Our ideal candidate is someone who is civically-engaged, community-focused, and participates in a diverse and open-minded team. This is a part-time position.

This job requires an expertise in organization, workflow management, communication and scheduling, and people engagement skills.


  • Reports directly to Chief Operating Officer and Stewardship Director
  • Manages requests for paid public speaking and workshop opportunities and film screenings, including Q&A’s following screening. Set up form/survey for booking purposes. Set up Vimeo/Zoom/Crowdcast software for screening and share with necessary parties. Facilitate technical set up.
  • Manages requests for Regenerative workshops for businesses and corporations, and multi-day immersions, including booking and handling logistics of lodging, travel, etc.
  • Works with StrawHut Media to produce and schedule Kiss the Ground’s internal podcast (working with Ryland and possibly interns to schedule)
  • Researches external podcast interview opportunities and reaches out to schedule. Keeps track of when and where appearances happen and posts them to Kiss the Ground’s blog and social media channels.


  • A passion for community and an understanding of its power and importance
  • Previous experience book speaking engagements, interviews, etc
  • Previous experience managing multiple calendars
  • Ability to establish, build, and maintain rapport with culturally diverse populations

*This is a 20 hour a week position, no benefits, $20-25 an hour, DOE. You will be compensated $50 a month for use of your computer and broadband.

Communications and Marketing Director 

Kiss The Ground is seeking highly diligent, confident candidates with substantial management experience for the role of Communications & Marketing Director. The position comes with great responsibility, as Communications Directors are accountable for public perception of a company. Managing this perception involves developing marketing and communication strategies, understanding the importance of timing and setting, responding to crises and setbacks, overseeing a team of diverse communications and marketing roles and ensuring that information released is consistent with the strategy at large. The Director will oversee the communications coordinator and web site manager.  In addition this position will work closely with Brand Partnership, Development, Media, Stewardship, Farmland, and Policy programs.

Communications Director Responsibilities:

  • Reports to COO and Executive Director.
  • Developing a cohesive communications strategy and budget and develops a Social media calendar taking into account internal and external posts and coordinating our communications with significant days in the calendar, as wells as our commitments in our BluePrint
  • Developing Marketing Strategy to sell our online courses.
  • Working with the Communications Coordinator to maintain communications and marketing calendar.
  • Helping Communications Coordinator with the flow/creation of and approval of posts.
  • Crisis management and preemptive planning.
  • Maintaining an awareness of company risks and threats.
  • Managing media relations.
  • Develop and manage influencer + brand ambassador programming.
  • Ensuring quality control of all information released.
  • Working with Public Relations team for strategy and copy assistance

Communications Director Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in Communications, Marketing or related field.
  • 8+ years communications experience.
  • Experience in digital analytics and social listening tools, measuring campaign ROI and metrics to support overall influencer strategy
  • Expert knowledge of Instagram, FaceBook, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Awareness of and proficiency with communications technologies.
  • Must demonstrate flawless attention to detail, be a team player,and creative thinker

Communications/Marketing Coordinator and WebSite manager

We are searching for a talented and professional Communications Coordinator to join our dynamic communications team. Your duties will be diverse and multi-faceted, therefore excellent professional skills are vital for this role. In this role, you’ll help lead the charge in growing our social media presence through engaging content that drives brand awareness, traffic and sales.The successful candidate will help the team create promotional materials, contribute to the development and management of the company website, to effectively deliver our company’s mission and offerings to the public and the media. If you love compelling social media content and visual storytelling, creating content, engaging with audiences, growing channels and inspiring people to explore the possibilities of Regeneration then you are who we are looking for.  You must possess superb written and verbal communication skills, and have in-depth knowledge of marketing trends. This position will also do basic updates to content in our WordPress Website and work with Web developers to upgrade and maintain our Website. 

 Communications Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Reports to COO and Communications Director
  • Write content for both print and Web including the company website, blog, brochures, annual report and magazine.  Assist with content for our two newsletters (Farmland and Stewardship). Writing instastories
  • Work with Stewardship Program and Farmland program to develop Marketing pieces for our online courses 
  • Implement communications and marketing strategy with the communications director.
  • Monitor the company’s social media and online presence.
  • Recommend techniques to improve the company’s public image.
  • Working with our Graphic designer, make sure that all promotional and marketing materials meet the company’s brand identity strategy.

  • Identify and resolve any issues with promotional content in a timely and professional manner.

 Website Manager Responsibilities:

  • Work in WordPress to do basic update to the website
  • Work with Technical web developers to improve the look, feel and functionality of the web site.  This may include a web overhaul in near future.
  • a detailed understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay Per Click (PPC). 
  • Plan, implement, manage, monitor and upgrade the organization’s website.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues.
  • Identify and respond to all website security breaches.
  • Ensure that the website is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures.
  • Create appropriate website content aligned to the organization’s strategy.
  • Ensure website quality and efficiency by conducting regular test plans.
  • Improve the User Experience of the website regularly.
