The retired dairy cow could help heal us, the land, farmers' livelihoods.

Stories of Regeneration: RETIRED DAIRY COWS

Stories of Regeneration: Retired Dairy Cows explores a radical yet deeply traditional idea: that dairy cows, after their years of providing milk, can also provide some of the most flavorful, ecologically responsible beef on earth.

The mini-doc premiered at Ceres Food & Film Festival on October 19, and was screened at Kiss the Ground’s Fall Meet Up on November 5, followed by the public launch.

The Soil Story

Here, we uncover nature’s best-hidden innovation: soil. Learn how we can store (sequester) carbon from our atmosphere, where it is harmful, and pull it back into the earth, where it belongs, through regenerative agriculture.

The Compost Story

In this film, discover what would happen if we diverted the 60 billion pounds of mineral-rich food materials that go to landfills each year in the U.S. alone and turned them into compost.

A Regenerative Secret

By breaking the thinking that cows are the problem, we can begin to see that regenerative ranching is not only restoring ecosystems and watersheds, but also helping ranchers across the world become more prosperous.

Stories of Regeneration:
North Dakota

Chris and Tyler are neighboring farmers in Leonard, North Dakota. 10 years ago, they discovered a way to farm that could save our soil while feeding our world.

These dedicated North Dakota farmers partnered together to regenerate each other’s land by sharing resources, exchanging ideas, and even collaborating on cattle grazing. Their journey demonstrates how regenerative agriculture not only rebuilds soil fertility but also strengthens rural communities through cooperation and shared purpose.

Along the way, Chris and Tyler realized that healthy soil and healthy communities both thrive on diversity, resilience, and mutual support. Their story is a powerful example of how local farmers can lead the way in transforming our food system for the better.
