Pet Purchasing Guide

Pawsitively Regenerative

Our 4-legged family members are just as important as the 2-legged ones, and caring for them means caring for the world they live in.

Our team created this guide to help you discover pet food, treats, toys, and supplement brands that support animal welfare, regenerative agriculture, responsible sourcing, and healthier agricultural systems.

Treats & Food

Everything our pets eat begins somewhere—often in a field, pasture, or on a farm. By understanding and embracing those connections, we can make choices that support our pets and the planet.

freeze-dried raw regeneratively sourced lamb lung treat

Open Farm has committed to helping transition 1 million acres to regenerative by 2030. Their emphasis on traceable sourcing and transparency is backed by their ingredient tracer, which lets you track the geographic origin, safety test results, and more for your bag of regenerative treats.

Bison Organ Blend Treats

100% of their ingredients come from 3rd-party regenerative verified ranches. They believe that feeding your pet shouldn’t mean suffering—for animals, farmers, or the planet.

The Cat Bag

REP Provisions extends its regenerative-sourcing philosophy to pets, using regeneratively-raised meat and scraps to make nutritious cat and dog treats that support their natural digestion.

Fun Fact

Every bowl of pet food starts with agriculture. Choosing regenerative and using more of the animal—including nutrient-rich organs and other underutilized cuts—can help reduce waste while providing valuable nutrition for pets.

Boar Trainers

Farm Hounds works directly with more than a dozen regenerative farms and ranches to create single-ingredient treats sourced from pasture-raised animals. Every bag is labeled with the farm it came from, helping you know exactly what you’re feeding your pet.

Raw Pet Food

Guided by the Principles of Regenerative Agriculture, Nourished by Nature Farm has earned Regenified Certification, supporting regenerative production across their beef, pork, chicken, and lamb operations—as well as the feed that nourishes their animals. They also produce food, including honey, for humans. The ranch is stewarded by Gabe Brown’s children, carrying forward his regenerative legacy many first discovered through the Kiss the Ground and Common Ground films.

Fun Fact

According to Pew Research, nearly all pet owners consider their pets part of the family, and about half say their pet means as much as any human relative. No wonder we put so much thought into what goes into their bowl, toy bin, and daily routine!

Gear

The most sustainable product is often the one you don’t need to replace next month. Many pet products are made from agricultural materials like cotton, hemp, wool, or bamboo, making the way those materials are grown just as important as how they’re used.

Choosing durable products made from responsibly-sourced natural fibers can help reduce waste while supporting healthier production systems.

Their Upcycled Canvas Dog Toys are made using reclaimed materials, while the company’s commitment to GOTS-certified cotton supports farming practices that avoid synthetic pesticides and fertilizers.

Their Eco Kitty Caves provide cats with a cozy, natural place to rest and feature organic cotton packaging and certified-organic catnip.
