50% of North Dakota’s soil is gone. Two farmers are going against convention to save it.

Stories of Regeneration: North Dakota

Chris and Tyler are neighboring farmers in Leonard, North Dakota. 10 years ago, they discovered a way to farm that could save our soil while feeding our world.

These dedicated North Dakota farmers partnered together to regenerate each other’s land by sharing resources, exchanging ideas, and even collaborating on cattle grazing. Their journey demonstrates how regenerative agriculture not only rebuilds soil fertility but also strengthens rural communities through cooperation and shared purpose.

Along the way, Chris and Tyler realized that healthy soil and healthy communities both thrive on diversity, resilience, and mutual support. Their story is a powerful example of how local farmers can lead the way in transforming our food system for the better.
