Dear Kiss the Ground Community,
As we move into Spring and prepare to celebrate Earth Month, I’m feeling a renewed energy around our work. Our collaboration with both supporters and farmers is at an all–time high.
A personal highlight has been spending time with leaders across the ecosystem (from farmers, to CPG CEOs, to chefs) who are actively bringing Regenerative options to consumers.
Tangible Growth
Last year, our Storytelling reached 20 million people, tripling our year-over-year reach as we expanded to daily content production. Our award-winning Stories of Regeneration mini-documentary series has now been viewed by over 5 million people and earned top honors at film festivals from Atlanta to Portland.
All the while, hundreds of regenerative products are beginning to show up on shelves at retailers from Costco to independent markets across the country. While they still represent only about 0.2% of new product launches, growth is accelerating rapidly at 72% year-over-year. Our focus this year is to accelerate consumer demand for Regenerative.
Support for Small Regenerative Farms
Last year we awarded $500,000 in grants to over 200 small farms, fueling the transition of 73,000 acres to include Regenerative practices. Now, to scale this impact, we launched our Kiss the Ground Farmer Relations Board. They will help guide our key farmer initiatives, including our Regenerative Farm Map which we will expand to include 1,000 small regenerative farms across the country, making it easier for our annual 20 million person audience to not only find regenerative products at retail, but also directly support farms in their community.
