Anthropologie–
10K Acre Partner
Anthropologie, a global lifestyle brand, shares our commitment to supporting regenerative agriculture as a key solution to our wellness, water, and climate crisis. Their generous donation of $100,000 enables us to inspire and catalyze the transition of 10,000 acres of land into regenerative.
“We are incredibly inspired by the work our friends at Kiss the Ground have been doing and are in awe of their ability to inspire millions of people across the country to participate in the regenerative movement.”
Elizabeth Preis, Chief Marketing Officer
What inspired you to work with Kiss the Ground?
In 2023, Anthropologie started working internally to introduce regenerative cotton into our fiber mix for our spring season in 2024. We knew creating products with regenerative cotton would be impactful, but we also wanted to take the initiative even further and thus created a partnership with Kiss the Ground.
We were thrilled to work with Kiss the Ground as our non-profit partner because of their incredible storytelling abilities, which brings their mission and impact to life in a powerful way. With the steadfast support of our passionate community, we're on a mission to inspire and educate about the importance of regenerative practices, not only in our products but in the world around us.
How does your organization stay connected to nature?
This past June, our Home Office team had an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact at FarmerJawn in West Chester, Pennsylvania. FarmerJawn, a transitional regenerative, organic farm working towards their regenerative certification, in Kiss the Ground’s network, has built an agricultural model that enables regenerative organic food production and is the largest black woman-owned regenerative organic produce farm in America.
At FarmerJawn’s 128-acre farm, Home Office employees rolled up their sleeves to support the summer harvest preparations. Our volunteer day was a testament to our commitment to regenerative agriculture and our partnership with Kiss the Ground. It was inspiring to see firsthand how our efforts contribute to a healthier environment and support local food systems.
What do you do to kiss the ground? Phrased differently, how do you celebrate, support, and protect our planet?
At Anthropologie, we are committed to being a force for A Greater Good. We strive to be in better service to our planet, its people, and our products, and to incite meaningful change in our journey to become more environmentally responsible and socially conscious.
Our commitment to our planet, and regenerative agriculture more specifically, is a joint effort across our partnership and sourcing pillars. Over the last year, we have enacted various initiatives that support regenerative farming within our natural fibers, like cotton. We’ve also supported key voices in the environmental space, including our friends at Kiss the Ground, where our $100,000 donation will help inspire and catalyze the transition of 10,000 acres of land into regenerative agriculture.
We’re excited to see the ways we can continue to make an impact through our product and with the help of our partners.
“Kiss the Ground is an incredible non-profit that has become a leading voice in raising awareness for regeneration through storytelling, education, and advocacy.”
Ryan Duey, Co-Founder and CEO
What is one quirky thing about your company that people might not expect?
As part of the interview process, every applicant participates in a Plunge and Sauna session with their manager or the founders during their final round interview.
If your company were something that grew in soil, what would it be and why?
We would be a potato, because of their resiliency. Our products and our people emit resiliency.
What do you do to kiss the ground? Phrased differently, how do you celebrate, support, and protect our planet?
We talk about it. Word of mouth is still the most powerful tool for getting information out. We believe in what Kiss the Ground is doing and we share it with the world.
“For more than 35 years, Applegate has been on a mission: Changing The Meat We Eat®️. We are grateful to work with Kiss the Ground, an organization with the goal to educate and help implement regenerative practices that support farmers, embrace animal welfare, and help to build healthy soil.”
Carolyn Gahn, Senior Director of Mission & Advocacy
What inspired you to work with Kiss the Ground?
On the one hand, regenerative agriculture makes so much intuitive sense: We take care of the land and it will take care of us. But how exactly healthy soil makes such a big difference can be hard to explain, especially to consumers who are so far removed from food and farming. The team at Kiss the Ground inspires us with their passionate and creative storytelling about this essential movement.
How does your organization stay connected to nature?
At Applegate, we are a team of foodies, adventurers and all-around do-ers. Staffers are not shy about organizing programs and activities that reflect these passions. One employee set up an office CSA; another a compost program. Earlier this year, our team organized a volunteer event with the Deep Roots Community Garden in Austin, TX.
If your company were something that grew in soil, what would it be and why?
A hotdog! Ok, hotdogs don’t actually grow in the soil. But grass does! And all our beef hotdogs are made from 100% grass-fed/grass-finished beef. Even better, by the end of 2025, our goal is to have all that beef sourced from certified regenerative grasslands.
“MegaFood is a proud partner of Kiss the Ground, and we help to advance their storytelling, education, and advocacy work, progressing the regenerative agriculture movement. We both share a strong belief in the transformative power of agriculture, and this partnership reflects our combined commitment to making a meaningful difference and driving large-scale positive change.“
Stacia Betley, Director of Sustainability and Social Impact
What inspired you to work with Kiss the Ground?
We are working to support the growers and suppliers in our supply chain through training and studies while working to improve agriculture practices. We are passionate about this cause and want to see the regenerative transition at scale, so we are thrilled to partner with Kiss the Ground, which is educating and advocating to have a more meaningful impact that goes beyond just our business or industry.
How does your organization stay connected to nature?
Staying connected to nature is key at MegaFood because the planet and the power of plants is at the heart of everything we do. Our generous Volunteer Paid Time Off (VPTO) program allows all regular full-time employees to receive 24 hours of paid time off to volunteer per year. This initiative gives us the opportunity to come together, both outdoors and within our community. Earlier this year, MegaFood employees volunteered on a farm in Massachusetts with The Food Project, a group that brings together youth and adults from diverse backgrounds to build a sustainable food system. We also teamed up with other New Hampshire B Corps for a beach cleanup and have many more exciting events planned for later in the year!
What do you do to kiss the ground? phrased differently, how do you celebrate, support, and protect our planet?
We kiss the ground (metaphorically) every day at MegaFood by embedding sustainability in all aspects of our business – from how we source our ingredients, to the way we make and package our products. We pull a variety of levers, including giving donations to farmers through our 1% for The Planet partnership, sourcing more sustainable ingredients, investing in our growers/suppliers, funding regenerative research with universities, and advocating for organic and regenerative agriculture.
Kiss the Ground’s Impact is stronger with Partnerships. For every $100 donated to Kiss the Ground, we inspire and catalyze the transition of 10 acres into regenerative agriculture, working directly with farmers, consultants, and various partners–this could be you.
